Week ahead: US inflation data, French elections in focus

(Sharecast News) - The market spotlight over the coming week will be on thee latest US inflation data, which may reveal a further perceptible and welcome decline in price pressures.

Those figures will be released on Friday, inside the personal income and spending report for the month of May.

Nonetheless, the first round of the French legislative elections two days afterwards will not be far from investors' minds, above on this side of the Atlantic.

The same is true of the snap poll in the UK that has been called for 4 July.

In the euro area meanwhile, Monday will bring with it M3 money supply growth figures for May.

They will be released alongside the European Commission's latest economic confidence surveys for the bloc.

On home shores, a reading on first quarter gross domestic product growth is also due out on Friday.
