Housebuilding and construction group Galliford Try has been chosen as the preferred bidder for the Orkney Islands Council's £57 million schools investment programme. Under the scheme Galliford Try Facilities Management will provide a range of services for 10 years including building and grounds maintenance.Contractor Morgan Sindall has picked up two education sector contracts valued at a total of £50m. Morgan will refurbish the University of Reading's halls of residence in a £28m deal and build the Chryston High School and Cultural Centre in Chryston, near Glasgow, under a £22m contract from North Lanarkshire Council.Mobile communications specialist Mobile Tornado Group has signed an exclusive partnership with NECO, a supplier of emergency, safety and security products, to deliver Push to Talk (PTT) mobile communications services into the South African market.NECO's new division, Instacom, will, in partnership with Mobile Tornado, enable a wide range of South African organisations "to benefit from a variety of PTT, Push to Locate and Push to Alert applications allowing them to communicate with their employees more effectively and efficiently," the company statement said.Asia-focused biometrics and surveillance software firm RCG has offloaded its 51% holding in RCG Network to Janesville Holdings for RM2.65m (£0.56m). Following the completion of the sale RCG will sign a distributor agreement with the purchaser committing the buyer to continue bundling the group's FxGuard Windows Logon with their future sales of certain brands of notebook computers.
