(Sharecast News) - British political magazine The Spectator has been sold to GB News' largest shareholder, Sir Paul March, for £100.0m, decoupling the conservative publication from the hunt for new owners for the right-leaning Telegraph papers.

According to Sky News, it was also said to be possible that March could still purchase both the Daily and Sunday Telegraph newspapers.

The Spectator, which claims to be the world's oldest surviving magazine, counts former prime minister Boris Johnson and ex-chancellor Nigel Lawson as past editors.
