(Sharecast News) - Schroders has moved its chief operating officer into the chief financial officer position, after its former finance lead was promoted to chief executive earlier this month.

Meagan Burnett will be appointed as CFO effective 1 January, succeeding Richard Oldfield who was announced as the new CEO in September.

Oldfield, who takes up his new position on 8 November, succeeds Peter Harrison, who announced his retirement after eight years at the helm.

Schroders also announced that long-serving chief investment officer Johanna Kyrklund will join the board as of next year. Kyrklund, who has been with the business since 2007 as an investor leading the UK Multi-Asset business, became group CIO in 2019.

"We are very pleased to welcome Meagen and Johanna to the board, both of whom bring exceptional experience, international mindsets and leadership across a wide range of disciplines including operations, finance, technology, investment and client relations," said chair Elizabeth Corley.

"Their rich skillsets will complement the excellent capabilities we have in Richard, providing us with strong leadership to drive the group forward."
