Distribution and outsourcing group Bunzl has made Philip Rogerson its new chairman and announced the retirement of interim chairman Jeff Harris.Rogerson will join the board as chairman designate on 1 January next year and take up the role in full at the start of March.He'll give up his current post as chairman of Northgate at the end of 2009 and his non-executive role at Davis Service two months later. He'll stay as chairman at Aggreko and Carillion.Harris has kept the chairman's seat warm for the past three months after taking over from Anthony Habgood who retired in July."I am very pleased that Philip has agreed to join the board," said Bunzl boss Michael Roney. "He is an established company chairman with a wealth of international experience across a number of different sectors, both at an operational level and as a non-executive director."
