Construction group Galiford Try is to build a casino complex at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.The £89m deal with Genting UK, the largest operator of casinos in the UK, includes construction of the casino, as well as a 176-bed hotel, and a spa.The 'Resorts World' project will also house conference facilities, a factory outlet centre, a cinema complex, retail space and parking. Construction is set to begin this month and is expected to be completed in January 2015. Chief Executive Greg Fitzgerald said the contract represented a significant success for the business in a difficult market for construction. "We are delighted we have completed a successful negotiation with Genting UK and now look forward to starting on site on what will be one of the most prestigious projects in the Midlands of recent times."
