Construction group Galliford Try has said its Partnerships business has been named as the preferred bidder to design and construct the Bournville Gardens retirement village in Birmingham. The project, worth over £26m, includes community and care facilities and is expected to start on site in June 2013 with completion planned for the summer of 2015.Partnerships has also reached financial close on the 765 Finchley Road project, which will see the creation of 80 mixed tenure homes and commercial units under a £15.8m contract. Galliford Try Chief Executive Greg Fitzgerald said: "These two contracts demonstrate the excellence that our Partnerships business provides in the care and affordable housing sectors.
