A consortium containing housebuilding and construction group Galliford Try has reached financial close with Manchester City Council for the regeneration of the Brunswick regeneration scheme in the east of the city. The S4B partnership, which contains infrastructure investor Equitix, Galliford and Contour Homes was chosen as the preferred bidder on the £100m contract.Repairs and maintenance contractor Mears will refurbish a further 654 homes and provide ongoing facilities management services under the project.Galliford Try Chief Executive Greg Fitzgerald said S4B was already well advanced in its planning for the project, and looked forward to formal commencement of works early in 2014. The regeneration programme will transform the Brunswick area of East Manchester, providing extensive infrastructure works and 522 new homes as well as new community facilities, including an extra care centre and shopping units. Additionally, remodelling will be carried out. Shares in Galliford Try were up 0.6% to 1,104p and Mears 0.33% to 456.5p at 14:30 on Wednesday.OH
