Galliford Try has secured a 34m pound schools project in Edinburgh, coming off the back of similar wins elsewhere in Scotland and Kent in England.The FTSE 250 housebuilding and construction group said the construction project was due for completion by summer 2016, with its facilities management (FM) arm signed up to provide a further £10m of ongoing maintenance and lifecycle management services over 25 years.The project involves the demolition of existing school buildings at James Gillespie's High School in Edinburgh and the construction of a new teaching block as well as brand new sports and performance buildings on the campus over two phases. In addition, the Grade A-listed Bruntsfield House at the centre of the campus will undergo a major refurbishment.The company has been subcontracted by South East Scotland, a public-private development company on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council.Galliford Try won a £65m construction and FM contract with hub South East Scotland in November, and earlier this week secured a £70m-plus construction and FM contract in Kent. Chief Executive Greg Fitzgerald said: "Our relationship with hub South East Scotland Limited is an important element of our Morrison business in Scotland and we are pleased to be selected for this significant education project for Edinburgh. "We will continue to work with our public and private sector colleagues in Scotland to find innovative ways of delivering these projects that are so beneficial for local communities."Shares in Galliford Try were down 0.74% to 1,077p at 09:30 on Wednesday.OH
