FTSE 250 movers: Beazley on top

Topping the risers lift is specialist insurer and reinsurer Beazley after pumping up profit by 59% in 2010. Also on the rise is Finnish miner Talvivaara after it signed an agreement with uranium producer Cameco Corporation for the off-take of uranium obtained as a by-product at Talvivaara's mine at Sotkamo.Phoenix Group is higher after Jonathan Moss quit as chief executive with immediate effect, to be replaced by Clive Bannister, the former group managing director of Insurance and Asset Management at banking giant HSBC.The heaviest faller is McBride, maker of own label products for retailers, after it met forecasts with a 29.6% drop in first half profit as it battles with rising raw materials prices and a difficult retail environment, particularly in the UK.Plastics group Victrex is in the red despite reporting a 43% increase in sales volumes over the first quarter.TalkTalk is unwanted after the broadband telephone group announced plans to axe 580 jobs as part of a £25m cost-cutting drive after sales and subscriber numbers fell in the third quarter.Edging lower is newsagent WH Smith, which paid £1.05m to acquire 22 stores and intellectual property from the administrators of south of England-focused British Bookshops and Stationers Limited.FTSE 250 - RisersBeazley (BEZ) 127.90p +6.76%Inchcape (INCH) 407.20p +5.41%Rathbone Brothers (RAT) 1,230.00p +4.68%Punch Taverns (PUB) 70.55p +4.52%Redrow (RDW) 126.60p +3.86%St. Modwen Properties (SMP) 174.40p +3.81%Stobart Group Ltd.
