The developer of dual-fuel engine management software, Clean Air Power, has signed a two-phase agreement to develop a dual-fuel engine for a South East Asian market. The first phase consists of a funded concept development agreement with an unnamed global truck manufacturer. AIM-listed Clean Air Power´s technology allows heavy-duty diesel engines to run almost entirely on natural gas with no loss in terms of performance or efficiency, while reducing fuel costs and lowering emissions. The stated aim of the above project is to build an advanced dual-fuel engine that not only achieves its emissions objective but also reduces the extent of after-treatment required by the base diesel engine.Upon successful completion of the first phase, which is expected to last six months, the company will move to bring the advanced dual-fuel engine to start of production. This is the first programme awarded as a result of the co-operation agreement inked with Ricardo in September 2013.As of 10:49 shares of Clean Air Power were rising by 5% to 7.88p.AB
