Centamin appoints new CEO

Andrew Pardey has been appointed as the new chief executive (CEO) of gold miner Centamin, the company said on Thursday.Pardey, who has been operating as the group's chief operating officer since 2012, will replace the interim CEO, Josef El-Raghy, on 1 February."Since joining the company, Andrew has been a driving force behind Centamin's development from a junior exploration company into one of the largest gold producers in North Africa," said El-Raghy, who will continue in his role as chairman"I look forward to continuing to work with the company towards delivering substantial shareholder value through further production growth in Egypt and development of our portfolio of assets at various stages of exploration."
