Support services group Carillion today confirmed its business in Oman has secured a £275m to build the Majlis, a new Parliament building in the centre of Muscat.The contract includes the construction of a new building to house the Majlis Oman, Majlis A'shura and Majlis A'ddowla, together with VIP areas, an Information Centre, Library, offices and other support facilities. Work will start immediately and will be carried out in two phases, with the Majlis Oman completed by September 2011 and the remaining works by September 2012, said Carillion in a company statement.Carillion, which operates across the UK, the Middle East, Canada and the Caribbean and whose main sectors market sectors are Defence, Education, Health, Facilities Management & Services, Rail, Roads, Civil Engineering and Utilities Services, said earlier this month that it remains on track to deliver 'materially enhanced' earnings for the full year after good performances across its divisions.
