A Carillion joint venture has been awarded a £157m contract to design, build, finance and maintain Phase 1b of Toronto's Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). The support services and construction firm's Carillion Health Solutions venture will knock down the existing administration building and put up three new state-of-the-art buildings.Demolition starts early next year and the new building should be completed in 2012.Carillion, which will invest £7m of equity in the project, will carry out the construction work and provide maintenance and life-cycle repair services over the 30-year concession period that together should generate £157m of revenue for the firm. 'We are delighted to have achieved financial close on this major project, which further reinforces our leading position in the PPP market in Canada, particularly in the health sector, where we have established a very strong track record,' said chief executive John McDonough.
