(Sharecast News) - Capital & Counties Properties on Tuesday unveiled 10 new retail brands for its Covent Garden shopping district, and launched its Christmas programme as firms hope for a return of customers during the holiday season.
The new tenants include global apparel brand Uniqlo, Los Angeles-based Rails, luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer, WatchHouse Coffee, Italian fashion house Empresa and perfume manufacturer Guerlain.
Retail was battered by last-minute Covid-19 closures last Christmas after the government reacted late to a surge in coronavirus cases in the weeks leading up to the holiday break.
C&C said Covent Garden had also launched its Christmas activities slate, including a "festive food market, a winter forest archway and Santa's sleigh".
"Covent Garden restaurants and bars continue to offer weatherproof dining, with over 1,000 outdoor dining seats across 55 restaurants in a pedestrianised environment," the company said in a statement.
Following the success of the summer campaign, American Express has chosen Covent Garden as its only London location for an American Express Winter World lounge. During the first three weekends in December, American Express will welcome shoppers to the lounge located on Floral Street, offering guests luxury gift wrapping workshops and festive refreshments.
