Beazley broadens marine offering

Just a day after its third quarter trading update insurer Beazley has announced plans to expand its marine underwriting capabilities.The company will set up a new team, headed by Zareena Hussain, to offer professional liability and logistics coverage to marine operators.‘Zareena and her colleagues have extensive experience in professional liability cover for ship managers, ship agents and marine surveyors, as well as cover for the operators of ports and logistics companies,’ said Clive Washbourn, head of Beazley’s Marine division.Though the company already offers a range of liability covers the new team will be targeting markets such as marine surveyors and ship managers who, typically, do not avail themselves of services offered through Lloyds udnerwriters.
